5. If the fuel air mixture is too rich:

  1. the mixture burns faster causing the cylinders to be subjected to heat for a shorter period of time, resulting in a cooler running engine

  2. the mixture burns faster causing the cylinders to be subjected to a very high heat. resulting in a hotter running engine

  3. the mixture burns slowly, subjecting the cylinders to heat for a longer period, which may result in over heating the cylinder heads

  4. the mixture burns slowly, subjecting the cylinders to a very low heat, resulting in a cooler running engine
